Mine is set to me@localhost.com. I'm having them clear it to see if that helps. I can't FTP in from here or I'd done it already.

Can you do a phpinfo() or look at php.ini to see the value of "sendmail_from"? Mine is blank. But maybe yours is set to something and that might offer a clue. (or it might be a red herring... sorry)

When I configure the SMTP plugin it sends from the gmail account, but I suspect this is authentication related. The server does still ignore the NAME settings in the SMTP plugin (again, interesting testing metric, not particularly important). I'm almost positive this isn't actually about gForms. It's the server saying "I'll send your email, but it's coming from the server admin only". I understand why this type of security would be in place, but I have to find a way around it.

Thanks. When you send a test message via WP-MAIL-SMTP, does the same thing happen? You can do this in the settings for WP-MAIL-SMTP. If so, this would remove Gravity Forms from the equation. I suspect GF is not involved, but it's better to be sure.

Well I'm all for it. It's fun being naughty -- err, real -- when you have friends there to snicker alongside you. I was originally a protected account and, while it was probably safer, it hindered me from growing my network. About a year later, I went public (for my entire digital footprint) and consolidated to the current ubiquitous Robin2go. A couple of years ago, my work environment wasn't the supportive place I'm at now, which made my public tweeting uncomfortably open to unwanted scrutiny. Had it been easy to do then, I would have probably gone private in a heartbeat and blocked the cranky bastards. Truth be told, while I've tried the occasional cloaked tweeting, I have a hard time remembering to switch and RT myself gets stupid. So I pretty much stay consistently Robin2go, warts and all. I'll be interested to hear how your dual identity is going when we're relatively under the table drinking in Austin. Of course, by then, we won't remember having this conversation at all. :)

Cheers!
