blister in the bun

Oh be still Jacks overactive sense of shame. “Blister in the Sun” is being used in a Wendy’s commercial…all things good and right in the world are being disembowled slowly while I watch them scream in commercialized agony. Oh the horror.

Anna Nicole

Holy cow, this was a shocker! around her death has been tremendous (and who friggin cares how TrimSpa is going to recover?), and I’ve got friends who have reacted very strongly…but the only thing I can think of (outside of that poor baby girl) is that we now know who all the drag queens will be impersonating for the next 20 years. Madonna was getting so worn out. RIP.

Mancow, what a pissant.

So I was accidentaly watching “Fox and Friends” this morning (Eironae-ic boyfriend was flipping channels waiting for me to get dressed) and suddenly there was Mancow. For those of you not familiar, he’s a shock jock idiot out of Chicago…think Howard Stern with a haircut. Anyway, he was on talking about his upcoming Fox News special…some retarded idiot box drivel where he’ll no doubt make fun of and/or convince a woman to get naked.

Anyway, seeing him (or rather hearing his voice) reminded me of my first 9/11 moments. I lived in Milwaukee at the time and woke to the sounds of Bob and Brian on Lazer 103 (now “The Hog”) talking about a plane crashing into the WTC. I jumped up and turned on a stereo in the living room (we had no TV at the time, I hate the things) that was tuned to another Milwaukee station that syndicated Mancow’s morning show. There were worlds of difference between Bob and Brian and Mancow. Bob and Brian were offering solemn facts and straight news reporting. Mancow was using the incident for ratings…ranting about what it could be, who could be responsible. His comments were all shock and conjecture. He was playing it up in frantic tones and using the situtation like a shock jock would. Even after the second plane hit he didn’t do anything to bring the situation into focus, to report the facts, to be a responsible broadcast personality. He’s a despicable, pathetic attention hound and undoubtedly one of the worst people to allow to distort the airwaves.

I’m all for freedom of speech, but I’m also for respect and responsiblity. This man has neither and Fox News should be ashamed to allow such a jackass to be on tv…but then again they let Bill O’Reilly out of his hole so I guess it’s to be expected.

oh oh ti-yi-dings of chocolate and joyyyyy

mmm Halloween…is there a better holiday? I think not! Vicki brought goody cups of chocolate happiness this morning, and tonight I’m going to see MIKE NELSON speak on campus. That’s right…the MST3K guy. This means I don’t have to deal with punks in disguise threatening to tp my house if I don’t fork over my hard earned chocolate goodness.
